Eleventh Judicial District Attorney Thom LeDoux will ask voters to eliminate the term limit applicable on the office of district attorney by approving ballot issue 4A at the polls Nov. 2. LeDoux said Pueblo County waived the term limit about eight years ago. He said other judicial districts including Mesa County and Denver County voted to increase the term limit from two terms to three. Initiatives to waive the term limit have never been successful in a multi-county district, he said.

Ballot initiatives for the November election including a sales tax increase for county emergency medical services and dispatch center were discussed during a multi-agency work session Tuesday. Participants included elected officials and personnel from Chaffee County, Salida, and Poncha Springs. Buena Vista representatives were absent because of a town meeting. County commissioner Tim Glenn said the county subsidizes emergency services program and dispatch center from $250,000 to $1.5 million per year.

With about 200 residents watching, Salida officials cut the ribbon Saturday opening renovated locker rooms at the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center.
