Possibly a second hotel tax initiative for county
The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors is considering some marketing moves to convince voters that approving an increase in the transient occupancy tax is a good thing. Supervisor Dick Pland suggested changing the hotel/motel room tax’s moniker to “the tourist service tax,” while County Administrator Craig Pedro suggested “tourist occupancy tax.” “This got really confusing the last time,” said Pedro at this week’s board meeting.
